I always loved my Grandma Pheifer’s Sour Cream Cookies at Christmas – the cakey, not-too-sweet cutouts were my ideal! I only remember enjoying them plain, but they are the perfect vehicle for a rich frosting avoiding an overall cloyingly sweet cookie.
