Santa’s having a Holly Dolly Christmas this year! Instead of traditional cookies, we’re leaving out Dolly Parton’s over-the-top “Tree’s a Crowd” Cheese Ball from her new cookbook “Good Lookin’ Cookin’.”
I knew we had to make this the moment I came across it. While cheese balls were a staple at my Grandma Cole’s holiday table, they never looked this great. Leave it to Dolly to turn up the volume!
The core of this tree is a mix of cream cheese, butter, diced pimento peppers, shredded cheddar and a bit of Worcestershire sauce. Once chilled and formed into the cone shape, you are ready to trim the tree with parsley providing the greenery and garlands of sliced almonds and pomegranate seeds ringing the outside.
Topped with a spring of rosemary and served with crackers and pretzels, you are ready to dig in.
