What better way to celebrate Our Lady of Houston’s 43rd year among us mere mortals than with my Beyoncé-inspired Master Cleanse Lemon Drop Cocktail!
Bey famously slimmed down for her role in Dreamgirls by detoxing with the master cleanse diet: only drinking a mix of water, cayenne, maple syrup, and lemon for weeks (which sounds pretty horrible to me).
While the water version isn’t for me, add some vodka and I’m in!
To celebrate her b-day we’re taking those ingredients and turning them into a cocktail!
This drink combines ice-cold vodka with lemon juice and dark maple syrup, shaken until cold before pouring into martini glasses rimmed with a cayenne and sugar mixture.
The result is a perfect balance of sweet, tart, and spicy!
After two of these, you’ll finally be ready to learn the choreo to “Formation”. Happy Bey-Day – hope it’s filled with sweet dreams, freakum dresses, and Spaghettii!
