One of my favorite appetizers is a sausage-stuffed cremini mushroom. So, I loved Julia Turshen’s idea for these supersized Street Fair Stuffed Mushrooms!
Inspired by the classic sausage and pepper dish found at fairs, this recipe turns the beloved appetizer into a satisfying main course.
These hearty mushrooms are generously filled with a flavorful mixture of Italian sausage (I used hot), bell peppers, onion, garlic, arugula, and breadcrumbs. To add a creamy touch, she dots the filling with goat cheese.
Even better, you can assemble these ahead of time, refrigerate them, and then roast them when you’re ready to enjoy!
