Turns out I’ve been cooking even more than usual since moving to Maine (didn’t think that was possible), which means I’ve fallen behind on posting – but at least I’m ahead on content, right?
Case in point: I’m only now getting around to sharing the main event from our Valentine’s Day (!) dinner: Lidey Heuck’s Date-Night Rib Eye with Wild Mushrooms.
The date‑night twist is simple: sear one gigantic, bone‑in rib‑eye, butter‑baste it with rosemary and garlic, then share with your favorite human – partner, friend, or family member.
While the steak rests, you sauté a mix of fresh mushrooms – because butter and mushrooms are a match made in heaven – with a splash of wine and a sprinkle of chives to finish.
It was so simple and satisfying – and best of all, we weren’t stuck in the kitchen all night.
