Ina Garten’s Soppressata & Cheese in Puff Pastry has been in my regular rotation for 10+ years at this point! It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and my go-to whenever I’m short on time but want an appetizer that’s hearty and delicious!
With just 5 ingredients, each one really pulls its weight – buttery, flaky puff pastry; tangy Dijon mustard; salty soppressata; and plenty of nutty, melty Gruyère. The mustard cuts through the richness, while the soppressata brings the right amount of meaty spice. I’ve also made it with ham, which is just as delicious.
While an all-butter store-bought puff pastry will give you the richest flavor, I’ve made this plenty of times with Pepperidge Farm (including this one) and it still turns out beautifully crisp, puffed and golden.
I dare you to have only one slice!
