Kicking off the last breakfast of 2023 with this deliciousness!
I adore the creamy, tangy lushness of labneh which is great on its own but paired with a few simple ingredients becomes magical!
And I can’t get enough of Sohla El-Waylly’s Çilbir which tops store-bought labneh with homemade chili oil, poached eggs, and a sprinkling of mint and parsley all scooped up with warm pitas.
The heat of the chili oil paired with the coolness of the labneh are a match made in heaven (the chili crisp labneh from Edy’s Grocer is an all-time favorite).
Sohla’s trick for straining eggs before poaching is perfect for eliminating wispy strands.
Because I’m always up for a challenge, I decided to make pita using Sohla’s recipe and the soft, pillowy results were heaven! Although I didn’t get the desired pocked, I won’t complain about making these again and again until I get them perfect!
