Barefoot in Paris: A Cookbook Club Dinner Inspired by Ina Garten

In anticipation of our Paris trip last month, we knew Ina Garten’s Barefoot in Paris had to be the cookbook club pick for June! It was one of the first Ina cookbooks I ever owned and remains a longtime favorite, especially for the dessert section. I knew I had to make her Profiteroles.

I remember the first time I made these early on in the project, I pulled the choux pastry out of the oven too soon and they deflated instantly. I panicked, threw them back in the oven, and miraculously, they re-puffed and set. Dessert saved!

This time, I filled the puffs with salted caramel gelato (highly recommend) and finished them with warm chocolate sauce. Absolutely drool-worthy.

Our dessert-heavy (of course) dinner menu also included: Lemon Meringue Tart, Vegetable Tian, Coeur à la Crème, Eggplant Gratin (which I accidentally overcooked – oops), Boeuf Bourguignon, Chocolate Truffles, and Lemon Chicken with Croutons.
