I’m so excited to finally have Irene Yoo’s Soju Party in my hands. I’ve been counting down for this one ever since I tested several recipes for the book last year, and every single one was phenomenal.
If I had to pick a favorite of the ones I tested, it’d be the simple but genius Grilled Kimcheeze. Does it get better than caramelized onions, sautéed kimchi, and diced plum tomatoes layered with mustard- and mayo-slathered sourdough, plus the perfect mix of Kraft Singles and sharp cheddar, grilled until golden and melty?!
But honestly, there wasn’t a miss. The Spam Jeon Musubi, Cheesy Spicy Ddukbokki, and Loaded Dwaeji Bulgogi Nachos were all mouthwateringly good.
I can’t wait to dive into more recipes and try the drinks! This should hold me over until I make it back to Irene’s Orion Bar in Brooklyn! Congrats again, Irene!
