Ina’s Shrimp & Linguine Fra Diavolo

I’m counting down to Ina’s memoir release by sharing one favorite recipe daily from each of her 13 cookbooks!

We are getting close to the finish line with Ina’s Modern Comfort Food and her Shrimp & Linguine Fra Diavolo!

I typically prepare Ina’s spicy homemade arrabbiata sauce, which includes 24 garlic cloves, Chianti, and crushed red pepper flakes. For the first time, I opted for the “store-bought is fine” route and used my absolute favorite jarred Arrabbiata sauce from Rao’s.

The sauce is combined with tender shrimp cooked in onions, white wine, and garlic. Tossed with al dente linguine and topped with a crunchy sautéed panko and parsley mixture, it’s a meal that always makes my mouth happy.

While I adore Rao’s products, this tasted very different without the homemade sauce – I think I’ll stick to making it from scratch in the future.

My only suggestion would be to double the panko mixture; that buttery, salty, crunchy topping adds a delicious texture that I couldn’t get enough of!
