When Mauna Loa sent me a stash of their incredible macadamia nuts earlier this year, I knew exactly what I wanted to bake: Hana Asbrink’s Miso White Chocolate-Macadamia Cookies!
I first fell in love with warm white chocolate macadamia nut cookies at the Mrs. Fields in the mall near where I grew up. Hana’s version takes the classic to the next level: brown butter adds rich, nutty depth, and a spoonful of miso brings the perfect touch of umami to balance the sweetness.
I know white “chocolate” gets a lot of hate, but I’m all for it—though I did love the balance of half white and half semi-sweet chips.
This has officially become my go-to version of one of my all-time favorite cookies.
